Aviation & Clean Energy Infrastructure — S.E.E. Comm Group

Airports built for
the energy
transition

SkyComm is the aviation and clean energy infrastructure division of S.E.E. Comm Group — transforming airport land into distributed power platforms, with LondonX as our flagship programme.

Airport land as an
energy platform

SkyComm holds the aviation and clean energy infrastructure mandate within the S.E.E. Comm Group. Our model treats airport land as a strategic energy asset — deploying solar generation across vacant airfield acreage, integrating battery storage and virtual power plant capability, and supplying private-wire electricity to high-energy industrial and commercial clients on and around the site.

LondonX, our signature project, is the gateway cargo platform for London and the Southeast — a region representing 40% of UK GDP. The site holds the UK Government's first airport Development Consent Order and sits at a critical grid node in East Kent, surrounded by 4.1 TWh per year of offshore wind and utility solar generation.

An integrated infrastructure stack

Every SkyComm programme combines clean energy generation, battery storage, cargo operations and private-wire supply into a single integrated asset — maximising returns from airport land throughout the development lifecycle.

01

Solar PV Generation

Vacant airport land is deployed as ground-mounted solar — filling the footprint while cargo operations scale up, generating revenue from day one. LondonX's 808-acre site provides substantial generation capacity from land that would otherwise sit idle.

02

Battery Energy Storage

Co-located BESS captures generation from the surrounding 4.1 TWh/year East Kent renewable cluster. LFP chemistry with Grid-Forming inverters qualifies for National Grid's Stability Pathfinder premium — a structural revenue stream independent of cargo activity.

03

Virtual Power Plant

A 300MW / 1,200MWh VPP structured to capture structural market volatility in East Kent — a critical grid node where 147+ hours of negative pricing occurred in 2024 alone, a trend accelerating as offshore wind capacity doubles by 2030.

04

Private-Wire Supply

On-site and adjacent high-energy industrial and commercial clients receive private-wire electricity — data centres, hotels, logistics operations and aerospace tenants attracted by competitively priced, low-carbon power with infrastructure-grade reliability.

05

Cargo Operations

LondonX is planned to accommodate over 1 million tonnes of cargo per annum, serving London and the Southeast from outside the congested London airspace zone. The site holds the UK Government's first airport Development Consent Order.

06

Port Integration

Integration with the adjacent seaport creates a combined air-sea cargo platform — driving freight efficiency between the European continent, distribution centres, and the broader London catchment via road, rail and water.

Why SkyComm

SC-INV-01
DCO-approved
site

LondonX holds the UK Government's first airport Development Consent Order — removing the planning risk that has blocked competing airport development programmes for years. The site has 100+ years of operational history and existing hardstanding that reduces civil costs by approximately 12%.

Critical grid
location

East Kent is one of the most energy-rich grid nodes in the UK — hosting Nemo Link (1GW interconnector), major offshore wind clusters, and the incoming Sea Link 2GW HVDC submarine cable. The resulting price volatility creates deep structural opportunity for battery storage and VPP operations.

ecosystem

SkyComm operates within a vertically integrated group alongside SolisComm's distributed energy programmes, BlueComm's maritime infrastructure and HighComm's road energy network. The result is a multi-modal clean energy and infrastructure platform with shared pipeline, shared overhead and compounding asset value.
